Since 1986, research botanists have collected more than 40,000 plant samples for evaluation in pharmaceutical screens against a variety of therepeutic targets. A number of novel, bioactive compounds have been isolated from plant samples collected by the Missouri Botanical Garden's bioprospecting programs.
