Bershacolone is found in the roots of Maprounea africana Muell.-Arg. (Euphorbiaceae) originally collected in Park Manovo-Gounda-St. Floris in the vicinity of Camp Koumbala in May of 1987 (Fay 8002).

Activity

Bershacolone is a novel diterpene purified from an organic extract that exhibited activity in the NCI's primary anti-HIV screen.
